The box is hand painted and the top lid depicts Queen Elizabeth II meeting the jockeys prior to a race. During a private visit to Kentucky in 1984, Her Majesty attended the inaugural running of the Keeneland race. The sides of the box depict a horse race in action with the text "KEENELAND" in the background. The inside shows a bugler starting the race and a horse weather vane. The box is oval in shape and measures about 2 3/4" long, 2" wide, and 1 1/4 tall. The underside of the base is marked with the Keeneland logo and the Crummles name. I do not have the presentation case, if it had one. Condition of this Crummles Keeneland enamel box is EXCELLENT. It appears to be completely undamaged.
I don't see any paint loss and the lid is very tight. This hard-to-find box looks fantastic and displays beautifully. It was obviously well cared for. Please take a close look at the many photos I've provided and judge condition for yourself. Top View - Queen Elizabeth II Meeting the Jockeys. Front View - Keeneland Race Track.
