Palekh miniature is a Russian folk handicraft of a miniature painting, which is done with tempera paints on varnished articles made of papier-mâché small boxes for jewelry etc. The box Winter holidays was made in the Palekh style by the famous, very talented and very experienced artist Fedotov. The artist works in the tradition of the Palekh school, using tempera paints. The plots of his works are different. A distinctive feature of the artist's work is the subtlest and most accurate study of even the smallest and seemingly unimportant details.

The following materials were used in the work: papier-mache, egg tempera, gold leaf and covered with Swedish varnish.
The box is repainted to a mirror finish. Inside the box is decorated with red velvet. Size : 2.75" x 4.7" x 1.6.
