Robin Spindler enjoys learning about the more unique aspects of wildlife. In her handpainted depiction of two giraffes, she illustrates a condition called Leucism Mutation. This mutation is caused by defects in pigment cells during development, which result in the partial loss of color from an animal's skin or hair, but not in organs, such as the eyes. The skin may look pale, almost like an albino.
The hand painted details on this vase are meticulously executed. Robin hand painted the background with a blue sky and large raspberry fern-shaped leaves in the foreground. Measures approximately 11" tall x 5-1/2" diameter. I took the photos in bright, indirect lighting, to show detail & color. New condition, as shown in the photos.
