Limoges France Hand Painted Small Trinket Box By PPA Old Fashion Telephone Number 299 of 999. For Your Limoges Box Collection-LimogesTelephone1. A beautiful small hand painted porcelain trinket box from Limoges France. The box, which is in the shape of an old telephone with a dial, has hinged lid. The top of the telephone acts as the lid and the hinge is equipped with a flattened center to serve as a stopper for the box's lid when opened. There is a metal wire connecting the mouth piece/earpiece or receiver to the telephone. The box is made of porcelain and is brown in color with a silver colored rest for the brown and black receiver on top. This very colorful box has a hinged lid. Both top and bottom of the box are fitted with brass rings having the hinge on the back and a locking thumb piece in the form of a button attached to the front of the top portion. The box has a squared flat base on which is sits.
The inside of the box is white with the word Allo! In black on the bottom portion. The base is marked as to the origin and maker of the box written in beautiful black cursive calligraphy underglaze on the white background.
