Hand Painted Russian Lacquer Box Folk Art Fairy Tale Inspired

This is a hand painted Russian lacquer box, maker unknown. Art may be based on the story of Ruslan and Ludmila, but I'm not sure. Amazing detail work with gold foiling on the beard and filigree on the side edge around the box opening. Few fine hairline scratches of varying sizes on the front. Inside is painted red with no scratches.
