The picturesque miniature boxes of the Fedoskino art school are known around the world. Fedoskino caskets are created by masters manually, painted with thin squirrel tassels, using mother of pearl and paints created according to an old recipe. The mineral dye is mixed with egg yolk, water and vinegar, getting bright, saturated colors. Most lacquer miniature boxes are produced in limited editions and generally in a single version. This means that an artist can copy his or someone else's works, or create his own author's work using only his own imagination.
