Offered from a local estate is a gorgeous little antique jewelry or trinket box in paper mâché. This serpentine box with shaped base is hand painted with a floral medallion on the slightly domed top, scalloped painted.

Border, scroll and lattice painted corners. All sides anchored with roses surrounded by gold scrolls.

The shaped base has leaf painted edges. The interior is lined with small geometric print fabric. The base is plain black with some nails showing through the gesso under coat where the box joins to the base. 6 1/4" by 4 1/4" and 2 1/2 tall. Inside 4 1/2" by 2 5/8".

Beautiful antique condition with minor chips over the surface (mostly edges) some chipping around the hinges. And wear along the back edge and edge above the hinge, please view the photos as they accurately represent the condition of. All of the items I sell are vintage, antique or collectible and will show some signs of use or wear. Please do not be expecting to receive a "new" condition item. Even excellent condition items will not look new and will show some signs of use.
