Antique French Brass Hinged Hand Painted Portrait Jewelry Casket or Box

Antique French golden brass velvet lined jewelry casket or trinket box. The rectangular hinged box is decorated with an embossed vertical design all around the outside. The top is textured with floral swag accents on either side of a framed round hand painted portrait of an 18th century lady with gray upswept hair and pink dress with white lace trim and a purple sash. The portrait is signed with what appears to be "Robet" on the lower right hand side. The box is lined with pale mint green velvet on the inside top and bottom. This lining is intact but does show some light stains. The hinged top opens and closes smoothly and snaps closed. There is some light wear to the gold finish on outside of the box and on the textured bottom of the box.

3.5" long by 2.25" wide by 1.5 high. 9 cm long by 5.7 cm wide by 3.7 cm high.
