Russian Fedoskino Hand Painted Lacquer Box Voroshilov Skiing c. 1939
This is a vintage Russian Fedoskino hand painted lacquer papier-mâché box. It is signed by the artist Kanyash and dated 1939. It is unusual in that it depicts the Isaak Brodsky painting of Defense Commissar Voroshilov cross country skiing. The letter also states that it is signed in red with the trade mark from the Fedoskino cooperative for the artists. It measures 7 1/4" long by just under 3 3/4" wide and stands 2 1/2 tall.

The inside is red and in very good condition. It has minor crazing to the paint and minimal chipping around the edges that you might expect to find on a vintage piece. The letter states that the oil has begun to check like any fine oil painting and is in good condition with the box itself in great condition.

No other issues that I can find. The item "Russian Fedoskino Hand Painted Lacquer Box Voroshilov Skiing c. 1939" is in sale since Thursday, February 18, 2016.
