Norwegian NORWAY Bentwood BOX Tine Hand Painted Wood Bunad Costume Lur Folk Art
Thank You for viewing my auctions! I do plan to list several of them..... Please look at my other auctions to see the other treasures I have listed :. This is in excellent Vintage Condition. This morning I thought this was just an unusual box that was made in Norway because it is STAMPED made in Norway on its bottom.. After looking in the internet and searching for a couple hours I have found this to be MORE than just a box. This is a Handcrafted Hand Made BENT WOOD BOX that is traditionally called a Tine (or Tina). Mine has a painting of a girl wearing a Traditional Costume called a Bunad Sounding a Lur or Neverlur with a background of Maybe the Lyngen Alps. See - too much to know. This is handcrafted from a thin sheet of wood curved to an oval base and then stitched with 2 three sixteenth inch bands of wood on the back side. Another 1/2 Band forms the rounded handle on the top.
This remains in EXCELLENT CONDITION with only the slightest signs of wear or paint loss please see picture. Not quite sure exactly why but I do...
Hope you do too ;-0. I will package carefully for safe transit. And I will try to answer promptly. The item "Norwegian NORWAY Bentwood BOX Tine Hand Painted Wood Bunad Costume Lur Folk Art" is in sale since Tuesday, September 29, 2015.
