It was bought years ago in Japan but never used by a relative that traveled the world as a sea merchant. It has four wooden jewelry compartments at the top that close shut to keep your jewelry out of view. On each side on the front of the jewelry box, there is a box drawer, which you pull out by using the tiny gold tone handles. The jewelry box requires two AA batteries for the ballerina to twirl and the lights to flash.
The ballerina only dances and the lights only flash when you open the main top compartment of the jewelry box. It plays an extremely soft sounding tune called Love Story. It's not loud, but it is more like the sound of a soft summer rain that falls upon the petals of your favorite flower.
The key to this jewelry box, however, is missing. I have no idea what happened to it.
