This porcelain hair receiver was produced in Japan by the Mori Mura Brothers between 1891 and 1911. It was customary to save hair in this porcelain box to weave and make momentos later on. It measures 5 inches in diameter and 2 ¾ inches high.
There are reserves with hand painted roses. Elaborate raised gold and beaded gilding accent both the top and bottom pieces. This is a beautiful example of an antiquated porcelain object.
